Sunday Services – Reverend Rita – Welcoming the Spirits of Samhain and Hallow’een

Great Hall

October 26: Welcoming the Spirits of Samhain and Hallow’een The veil between worlds is said to be thin this time of year, the veil between the living and the departed, between the lively and the insubstantial, between fun and frights, between tricks and treats. We commemorate Samhain and Halloween today, with seriousness and levity. Wear a costume, appear as your alter-ego, be prepared to laugh at your fears.  Whether ghosts, ghoulies, “hants,” and ancestral spirits haunt or amuse us, we feel clearly the change in season that reminds us that the past is also ever-present in a continuing and reassuring cycle. Rev. Rita and Family Life Coordinator Caitlyn Seale are officiating this All-gen service, accompanied by Service Associate TBA. For maximal fun and great honor to the spirits, wear your best seasonal costume. Join us after service for the Annual Youth Dessert FUNdraiser, proceeds supporting youth participation in the annual CanUUdle retreat.
