VOLUNTEER AT UCM!
VOLUNTEER AT UCM
There are many ways to become involved in UCM. Want to meet new people? Join a Greeter Team or help with Fellowship lunches. Love gardening or have an interest in the environmental issues? Participate in the Greening Initiative or Green Sanctuary.
Want to make the world a better place? Find out what is going on in Social Justice: participate in various special events or our continuing work with the wider community.
UCM also depends on volunteer members and friends to work on our committees and task groups throughout the year.
For more information about current volunteer opportunities, email admin@uucm.ca or minister@uucm.ca
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteers Needed
We are almost full! Only a few more spots in our inaugural Artisans in the Garden Show remain. Please put July 20th on your calendar and think of gifts you will need in the summer and fall for birthdays, anniversaries and just to say “I Love You”.
We will be having a volunteer sign up day May 26th after service. We are seeking the following:
- Pitchers of Lemonade (some unsweetened)
- Gluten free muffins and cookies. (One of our vendors will have some individual snacks but not gluten free)
- Staff for the UCM booth to sell refreshments and introduce UCM to the community
- Strong arms to set up tables by 8 am on Saturday (in the event of rain forecast we can set up the evening before in the Great Hall) and to take down tables at 3:30.
- Greeters from 10:00 AM -12:30 PM and from 12:30 - 3:00 PM
We look forward to working with you to make this a great success.
Thanks for helping us make a great event.
Festive Fair Follow Up
Thank you again to all our terrific volunteers. It is not too early to start thinking about our 2019 Fair.
2019 will be my last year chairing the Fair. If someone would be interested in taking over in 2020, it would be terrific if that special person could work with me this year to ensure a seamless transition. Please let me know if this important position appeals to you
Treasure Trove
Judy Benger is seeking a special person to co-Chair this area with her next year. Please let Judy know if you are interested. Judy.benscheu@sympatico.ca
Please also think of the treasure trove if you are downsizing or helping a friend or relative do so. Judy is looking for small household items in very good and clean condition. Please note No items bigger than an airline carry on bag will be accepted.
Silent Auction
Please keep this area in mind if you receive gifts that you don’t need or have items that would be too valuable for the treasure trove. Sheila Bjarnason has kindly agreed to take on this important area again this year. Sbjarn@gmail.com.

Social Responsibility Committee
Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity at UCM? The Social Responsibility Committee needs someone to take on the organization of our food bank collections. Duties would involve promoting our Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter campaigns in The Shining Chalice and overseeing the collections. You would also liaise with the Mississauga Food Bank and deliver the donations. Guidance will be provided!
If interested please speak to Judy Benger.
