SUMMARY:Sunday Services – Rev Jeff Brown\, UCM Minister Emeritus – New Member Sunday
DESCRIPTION:May 31 – Rev Jeff Brown\, UCM Minister Emeritus   \n“Prophetic Visioning” / New Member Sunday. \nIf we are a village—a community—that’s vital but not enough. What motivates us to do more than exist? In a disillusioned and pessimistic world\, how do we walk with those grieving—like we are—and muster a vision\, grounded in truth-telling and showing hope. \nNew Member Sunday – Join us for a special ceremony to formally recognize the new members who have chosen UCM as their spiritual home.

SUMMARY:Frog-In-Hand Dance Company – Open House with Seasonal Activities: Spring Edition

Each evening includes a number of short acts from a variety of disciplines\, including dance\, music\, physical theatre\, clown\, mask and puppetry\, storytelling and participatory art. \nWe ask our performers to think about how they respond to the seasons\, or how the seasons shape their approach to art making; how they interface with an audience and how they want an audience to participate in their work.

SUMMARY:Sunday Services – Rev. Carly Murlor – A Matter of Perspective
DESCRIPTION:April 12 – A Matter of Perspective \nTo walk a mile in someone else’s shoes\, as the saying goes\, is simple in concept but often difficult in practice. What insights are possible when we truly make space for other’s experiences and stories\, even when — or especially when — they challenge our own values and perceptions of the world? \nRev Carly Murlor is passionate about innovation and building multi-generational community in UU communities\, as well as weaving spiritual growth\, community building\, and social justice together.  She is currently serving UCM as our pastoral care minister.

SUMMARY:Sunday Services – Rev. Stephen Atkinson – What is Easter to Unitarian Universalists?
DESCRIPTION:April 5 – What is Easter to Unitarian Universalists? \nSpring festivals have been part of human culture perhaps even further into the past than we have evidence for. Religious significance has grown up around them\, but the foundation rests on the joy of returning growth and new life. Today’s service will be a collage of Spring and Easter images\, words and music. \nThe Rev. Stephen Atkinson has enjoyed being with us in the past\, and is glad to be here again this week. His parish ministry was at North Shore Unitarian Church in West Vancouver BC\, and he trained and practiced chaplaincy briefly at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. Now\, he enjoys retirement\, volunteering for First Unitarian Church of Hamilton and the Ministerial Fellowship Committee of the UUA\, and\, especially\, guest preaching.
