Sunday Service: Love Persevering

The Unitarian Congregation in Mississauga 84 South Service Road, Mississauga

We are gathering in person this Sunday at 10:30am!  I have been living with this phrase - "but what is grief, if not love persevering?" from the television show WandaVision. Love persevering past the death of a loved one makes grief a feeling not to shy away from, but to embrace as part of the price of being alive. We love and what we love dies, it is the way of the world. Grief/love may also be accompanied by other emotions, like regret, anger or even relief, as complicated relationships with complicated humans are, well, complicated. All shades of grief are welcome here. To mark this most human of experiences, every year at this time we gather in a ritual of mourning to honour our dead, lighting candles to honour beloved souls now gone. It's a time to share our grief, sit with loss, and know that we are not alone. Join us in-person this Sunday at 10:30am (as well as on Zoom and YouTube) to honour our collective griefs, the death of those close to us and all the other losses of this difficult year - whether that is a job, a relationship, or a sense of security. As usual we will enjoy some beautiful musical gifts and end with a ritual of hope to remind us of all the good still in the world. Coffee & Tea Returns! Coffee & Tea service will return after service on Sunday. Please assist by bringing your own travel mug. Beverages will be served by our friendly greeters at tables that will be set up at the back of the hall. You are asked to remain seated while you consume your beverage. Enjoy.
