Sunday Service: The time of your life

It’s like water…so it flows.  It’s like money…so it’s valuable.  It’s fleeting…so it flies.  It’s infinite, but we never have enough of it – even though we often waste it and don’t know what to do with what we have.  What is time?  Can we ever know?  If not, how should we think about it?  Should we think about it at all?  Drawing philosophy, literature and physics, Michael Raynor will offer some personal reflections on what Einstein called “a stubbornly persistent illusion.

Annual Budget Meeting

Mark your calendar for the UCM Congregational Budget Meeting on Sunday, January 28th, 2018. A light lunch will be served after the Sunday Service, to be followed immediately by the Meeting. Agenda items include the following motions: · Report on the fall 2017 Canvass Campaign for 2018 · Presentation and Approval of the 2018 Budget · Report on Capital Income and Expenses for 2017, and Approval of Plans for 2018 · Other business . Vote to Approve Collette Dowhaniuk as a new Lay Chaplain

Memorial Service for Mary Needham

A memorial service will be held  for Mary Needham at the Unitarian Congregation in Mississauga on Sunday, January 28th at 3:00 pm. Mary Needham, beloved wife of John Needham, passed away on Saturday January 6th from injuries sustained in a car accident. Our thoughts are with John, their daughters Andrea and Jacquie, and grandchildren Charlotte, Ellie and Sawyer.  Mary will be greatly missed by her family, her Unitarian friends, the Grandmothers, and many more. The Rev. Fiona Heath will officiate. Mary's obituary is at Please share with Rev. Fiona any tributes or stories you have about Mary by January 21st. We ask that anyone who is able to walk for a distance to please park in the Queen Elizabeth Public School parking lot for the memorial. Would you be willing...? Susan Berry and Sheila Bjarnson are organizing the reception for Mary Needham's memorial. As Mary was always willing to provide treats or a soup for any event, we will honour her in kind.
