Let the bidding begin
Take our online tool for a spin
Online bidding: https://uucm.ca/shop/
Online bidding runs: May 23 morning to June 9 at noon
Instructions are as follows:
Step one: please register some simple details in the tool: https://uucm.ca/my-account/
*Please use your full name as we will be using it to track and synchronize bids between online and paper-based bidding.
**Note: Your information is completely secure and encrypted along with everything else on the UCM website.
Step two: Peruse the items in the auction at the ‘shop’ address above and enter a bid as many times as you like throughout the auction period. Click an item to enter and see the description and details, and enter your bid amount in the available field. Use the ‘ifs bid’ button to submit your bid. You will be informed by email of your bids and if someone else outbids you. There are a number of pages of items so please ensure to check out all pages.
Step three: Check the site regularly for any late breaking items up for bid, as new items can be added throughout the auction period. If you are logged out of the site you will need to log back in again via https://uucm.ca/my-account/ and then go to https://uucm.ca/shop/.
Special instructions for fixed price items: Some items in the auction are offered at fixed prices for up to maximum number of people. These will be clearly indicated in the title and description as ‘FIXED PRICE’ and will identify the maximum number of guests. These items will be handled on a first come / first served basis and will be closed off when maximum numbers are reached. Due to a limitation in the tool you will need to submit your bid with a higher amount than the prior bidder in order to be added to the list – however you will only pay the fixed price amount. To make it fair that these limited guest items are not snapped up online (some people may not have the time or the inclination to bid online) before in-person bidding begins on May 27th, online bidding on these items will not begin until May 27 at 10 AM.
Synchronization between bidding methods: Because this year we are managing the auction with both in-person bidding (on Sundays) and the online tool we will need to synchronize the bids. Any online bids entered by Saturday early evening will be transferred to the paper bid sheets for the next Sunday morning. The highest bid from the Sunday morning will be entered into the online tool later that day with a special user called “In-Person Bid Update”.
