As a hurricane approaches landfall on the east coast of the United States, I find myself thinking of hope and preparedness. Honest hope can involve energy and effort. Despite the intensity of the hurricane, which people can do nothing about, they can help themselves survive by boarding up windows, heading to higher ground; these actions come from a will to survive, a hope for the future. This Sunday at 10:30 join me in a consideration of hope in hurricane times.
Last Sunday our water ceremony flowed beautifully, and I am grateful for the efforts of all who were there – leaders and congregants – who created a memorable and meaningful experience. It was a wonderful way to start our fifth year together.
I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
