This Sunday at 10:30am I will be exploring the role our biological and spiritual ancestors can play in our lives. I know very little about my biological ancestors, so over the years I have discovered spiritual ancestors who have influenced, inspired and supported me, like the author Ursula K. Le Guin and Unitarian minister Kenneth Patton. To celebrate the power of ancestors we will create a “cloud of witnesses” with post it notes! We will also enjoy a musical gift from our own Helen Graham.
After the service, the board is offering a Listening Circle, where people can come and share their hopes and fears for this time of transition. Please come and share as you are able.
I want to extend a special thank you to all the folks who help create our Sunday celebrations, from Tisa in the office to the service leaders to the audio/visual support to the storytellers and Caitlyn to the choir and Abigail to the greeters and welcome table and coffee people. The Sunday experience isn’t possible without the fabulous efforts of all of you! I encourage us to offer appreciations and affirmations of all the Sunday helpers.
On this Family Day weekend, may you feel held by your ancestors.
Blessings are everywhere.
