This Sunday April 30th is Social Justice Sunday, and our guest speaker is a compassionate expert on the critical topic of Homelessness in Peel and in Toronto.
Daphna Nussbaum is the Project Coordinator and Analyst for the Peel Alliance to End Homelessness, and she will speak and show slides to describe the significant extent of homelessness in Peel Region, something that is more hidden than on the streets of Toronto. Daphna was also a member of Toronto Alliance to End Homelessness, so she can uniquely compare the homelessness situation in Peel to that of Toronto.
Daphna is also involved in finding solutions to homelessness, as she has participated in local tables such as the Peel Poverty Reduction Committee, Peel Harm Reduction Committee and the Peel Poverty Action Group. Daphna also sits on the board of Habitat Services.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about this seemingly intractable problem, and you are welcome to speak with Daphna at coffee hour with your lingering questions and comments.
John Rowell, Chair, Social Justice Action Committee, and
Tammy Christiansen, Service Leader
