Spring is here! The crocus in my backyard have emerged at last, a sure sign of the earth renewing, a sight that lightens my heart almost as much as all the hugs, gifts, and kind words over the past months. Thank you all for your generosity. One of my hopes when I began here at UCM was to leave well, to have experienced good things together and faced challenges together, and to leave with kindness and grace, letting go with the hands but not with the heart. As I look forward to tonight’s celebration, I know that my hope has been realized!
Words can not express my gratitude and grief as we head towards the parting of the ways on April 16th. While in my heart I know it is time for you to be refreshed by a new ministry and time for me to return to my roots in writing and nature, this is a bittersweet ending. I have been so lucky to be the minister here for almost nine years! On our second last Sunday I will be looking back at our years together, as we have worked to deepen, nurture, and act for an equitable and sustainable world.
I look forward to seeing many of you tonight and Sunday.
Blessings are everywhere.
