Online National Sunday Service at 1:00 pm: Celebration and Contemplation: The Path of an 8th Principle

We are gathering on Zoom this Sunday at 1:00 pm!

Winter with snow and cold and sun refreshes me, I love bundling up and taking the dog for long walks, and I’ve especially appreciated it during these past weeks of restrictions. The many tracks in the snow remind me that life continues on even in the midst of winter chill. The crisp air makes me appreciate the warmth of my house all the more! I hope all of you find joy in some aspect of winter life, this season of hot chocolate and red cheeks.

Sharing Our Faith National Sunday Service at 1:00 pm

“Celebration and Contemplation: The Path of an 8th Principle.”
Coordinated by Revs. Victoria Ingram and Meghann Robern
Unitarians and Universalists have been on the forefront of social change and justice seeking for hundreds of years. In November 2021, congregations of the Canadian Unitarian Council once again stepped forward, this time to commit ourselves to dismantling racism and systemic barriers to full inclusion for all people. Be part of celebrating this commitment to foundational social change as we contemplate the steps we take to move forward in our commitment to justice in ourselves, our denomination, and our larger society. Our own Rev. Fiona will be offering a call to action!

Join us live on Zoom or the CUC’s YouTube channel; the service will be made available early the following week for your congregation’s use if you are unable to attend.

If you’re joining us on Zoom by landline, call-in toll-free: 1-855 703 8985; Meeting ID 847 1005 5117; Passcode: 482463

This Sunday is another national service presented by the Canadian Unitarian Council, one of three we will be participating in this year.  There will be no UCM service, instead log onto Zoom at 1:00pm (see below for the Zoom link) for a service titled “Celebration and Contemplation: The Path of an 8th Principle.” We will hear from Wilbur and Donovan Hayden, enjoy beautiful music, offer our financial gifts to the Sharing our Faith fund of the CUC, which supports special congregational projects, and even hear from me! I have the honour of sharing a “Call to Action and Encouragement”. These national services are a wonderful opportunity to be with UUs from sea to shining sea.

The following Sunday, February 13th, we will back Zooming live from the Great Hall with a special live performance from the choir! The Covid Task Force will make a decision about meeting in-person on Sundays and we will let you know as soon as we can.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Blessings,
Fiona
