Several years ago I read a book with the title When Will There be Good News?. I have never forgotten the title, and often say it to myself after hearing about yet another mass shooting or natural disaster as a kind of lament. I can now answer the question “when will there be good news?” with “this Sunday!”. This week we celebrate the good news that is always ever present in the world, from the kindness of strangers to innovative climate strategies. We will listen to testimonies, spend time sharing the good news we most want to hear, and hear from our Good News Reporter! If your heart is in need of good news, this service is for you.
As well as the joy of good news this Sunday, plan to stay after the service for a board hosted Congregational Conversation about renewing UCM. As we continue to live into a world with pandemics and climate shifts, and generational changes, there is an opportunity to re-imagine our chalice community.
