Online Sunday Service: Firewalk – All Ages Fire Ceremony

We are gathering on Zoom this Sunday at 10:30am!

The January days bring bright sun and chill winds, we are in the heart of winter, and as Unitarian Universalists we respond with the blaze of fire, a reminder of the energy singing through the universe even now. In our annual fire ceremony this Sunday at 10:30am on Zoom we celebrate the fiery power of life. Cultures all over the world, from ancient times to today, developed rituals that involved walking over hot coals or stones.  Firewalking is a way for people to turn their fears into a sense of power. This Sunday we will inspire ourselves with firewalking, as we light flash paper and listen to guest drummer Greg Noguera.

Have a chalice or candle to light, and paper and pen nearby. Wear your favourite orange, red or yellow sweaters. See below for fire ceremony resources to use at home.
