A few weeks ago I said to a colleague that the more uncertain the world becomes, the more I need to be grounded and stable within myself. This is more true then ever and I have been turning to spiritual practices to keep me firmly rooted. I have a daily morning gratitude practice, light a chalice most days, journal each week and have just added in yoga as well. All of these actions help remind me of all the wonders that exist alongside the chaos and remind me that I am well and well cared for. With firm roots I might sway in the on-going storms but I won’t break. What spiritual practices help you stay grounded?
This Sunday at 10:30am I explore our final Canadian UU aspiration: We aspire to be spiritually grounded – we seek transformation through personal spiritual experiences and shared ritual. How can UU rituals shape our lives for the better?

I am grateful to all those sending me kind messages of support for my upcoming sabbatical which begins February 1st. While I will miss UCM, I am looking forward to some extended rest and time for creative projects. Rev. Ben Robins is excited to be joining us and I know you will enjoy his warm presence.
I look forward to being with you on Sunday.
