Sunday Service: Diving In

Read Reverend Fiona’s Reflection.

I am amazed by the depth of the cold this week – even the bright sunshine is without warmth – it reminds me how dependent I am on mechanical heat for my very survival. Most mornings I murmur winter thanks/to the furnace – tall, steel rectangle/containing flawless flame from Marcus Jackson’s poem Winter Thanks when I hear the furnace rumble to life. I am so very grateful to furnaces, tea kettles and car seat warmers; what have you been grateful for during this chilly, snowy week?

February brings us the theme of Flow, exploring that rare experience of flow of  deep immersion in creative activity. This Sunday at 10:30, I look at how creativity and faith might help bring us into the flow.

On Monday, we have the privilege of hosting a World Interfaith Harmony Prayer Breakfast, sponsored by the Interfaith Council of Peel. The Mayor will be present to hear prayers of peace from many faiths. UCM members are welcome to attend, details are below.

I look forward to being with you this Sunday.
