Congressional Conversation: Discussion of Mark De Wolfe Award led by Kathy Gezci
Social Action Award Renaming There has been informal discussion amongst UCM members about changing the name of the Mark DeWolfe Social Action Award. The Board has struck a task force chaired by Larry Rawlinson, and members are Tom Lebour and Kathy Geczi. This task force is recommending that we ask for congregation input about the name of the award. In addition, the committee is recommending that we also consider recognizing Mark‟s history with a framed photo of him, which would include a brief written summary, to be hung somewhere within the building.
The committee suggests that there be a congregational conversation after church on Sept 16 followed by online ranked voting. For those without internet access, there will be the option of paper voting.
1. The Mark DeWolfe Social Action Award (no change)
2. UCM Social Action Award, with a note at the bottom of the plaque referencing the DeWolfe award history
3. The DNA Award – DeWolfe Needham Action Award
After voting is tallied, we will proceed in November with nominations for the award as per our usual process. Kathy Geczi Chair, Mark DeWolfe Award Committee
