The purpose of a Death Café is to provide a safe and nurturing place to discuss and share our questions, beliefs, and experiences about death. There is nothing that we share more globally than the experience of death, both our own and that of those we love, yet it remains one of the deepest taboos. In recognizing that talking about death is often difficult, it can give us a level of comfort when we can do so, which serves us well moving forward.
Whereas there are many ways to engage with this journey, we will be participating in a series of discussions facilitated by an experienced and caring moderator. You will be encouraged to look at aspects that are of particular interest, such as “Having a Good Death” “Death and the Journey of Dying“ and “Grief and Grieving”. There will also be a time of communal sharing with an open forum to enable a deep dive into this most human experience.
