This is an introductory workshop to working with Polymer Clay. It is intended to be a very experiential time, working through various techniques we will make a pendant and cover a pen. We will learn the principles of conditioning clay to get the best results, creating a “jelly roll”, turning that into a cane, and then slicing it to make it into a slab. We will use metallic clay to develop a mica shift pattern and some foil to embellish the pendant with a crackle stripe.
You need to have a flat work-surface, something to roll with, an ovenproof cup or glass, and access to an oven where you can bake at 275̊F for up to an hour. Everything else will be supplied in a sealed zip-lock bag. You are asked to pay $5 to offset the cost of the materials. If you had let her know of your interest, arrangements will be made for drop off or pick up of your custom kit this week. If you have not yet sent your $5.00 to Kathleen, she would appreciate an e- transfer before March 3rd.
Those who just want to watch and learn are most welcome to join us.
