Christmas Eve Service: A Merry Little Christmas

Christmas Eve Service: A Merry Little Christmas

Join us for a celebration of all things merry and bright!  Wear your most festive outfit for our annual ages Christmas Eve service.  You will be greeted with candy canes, carollers and lantern light as you arrive, then come into the warmth of the Great Hall for a festive celebration of family, love, and hope. Our guest musicians, Paul and Stevie Gee, will offer jazzy versions of holiday standards.

Christmas Eve Collection
The collection during our Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24th will go to our Mark DeWolfe Social Action Award recipent Douglas Alton’s charity of choice, Physicians for Global Survival, located in Ottawa. This organization’s mission statement reads: “Because of our concern for global health, we are committed to the abolition of nuclear weapons, the prevention of war, the promotion of nonviolent means of conflict resolution and social justice in a sustainable world.”

Please know that you are welcome just as you are in this chalice community. Whether you love the holiday or struggle to find meaning within it, you are welcome here. And if you know someone who is alone over the holidays, invite them to join you here at UCM. We might be what they need most.

May we all find a blessing this winter holiday – in being with loved ones, in experiencing beauty and wonder, reaching out to those suffering, or finding deep peace within.

May there be peace in the world.
