Our book for April 25th is The Rose Code by Kate Quinn. The New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of The Huntress and The Alice Network returns with another heart-stopping World War II story of three female code breakers at Bletchley Park and the spy they must root out after the war is over.
The movie that relates to the book is the 2014 film The Imitation Game that tells the inspiring story of mathematician Alan Turing and his team of code-breakers whose work was crucial to British efforts in World War II. Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightly star. It is on Netflix.
Looking ahead, our book for May is The Splendid and the Vile by Erik Larson. The Churchill Family’s experience during the Blitz. Reviewers say it reads like a novel. We will be choosing our September book at this meeting.
Join us! Everyone is welcome.
