Amnesty International Write for Rights
UCM’s Amnesty International Group is sponsoring three letter-signings on tables in the lobby this Sunday June 19.
The first letter is to Prime Minister Trudeau urging that Export Development Canada redirect the majority of its energy industry subsidies away from Oil and Gas to the Renewable Energy sector. The second is a letter to the government of El Salvador advocating that the State of Emergency legislation be modified to respect human rights and due process for defendants. The third letter is to both the Algerian President and the Algerian Ambassador pleading for a reversal of the death sentence for an Algerian “whistle-blower” who exposed examples of corruption in the country’s senior military leadership.
Please read each letter and sign them if you agree with the content.
Thank you for your support of these Amnesty Urgent Action letters.
