This Sunday March 19 our Amnesty International team has chosen three cases in smaller countries that are often ignored. All three letters are concerned with suppression of freedom of expression by government authorities.
A case in Andorra (small country in Europe between France and Spain) involves legal punishment of an abortion rights advocate for speaking out against the country’s total ban on abortion, and a case in Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) involves the jailing of two parliamentary MPs for supporting reform protests. A third case calls for the release of three men in Cameroon jailed for 10 years for publicly denouncing military brutality and torture.
Please read the letters in the lobby and sign them if you agree with the messages. Donations in the cup for postage costs are always appreciated.
