Committee Members Needed!

Considering the changes that are occurring there is a need for new members on the Membership Committee. This is a great opportunity to meet people! The Membership Committee looks after the welcoming table in the foyer, where we greet and welcome newcomers, have them register in our Guest Book and give them material on Unitarian Universalism and our congregation. Each committee member has responsibility for that once or twice a month.

Membership also provides a great opportunity to learn more about our denomination and UCM. One of our major events is the Orientation for Newcomers, held in the fall and the spring. We also plan and take part in the annual New Members Sunday service, in conjunction with the Interim Minister and the Director of Lifespan Learning.

What do you need to qualify? Good communication skills, enthusiasm and commitment.

If you enjoy writing, you might like to author the Membership Corner in the newsletter or prepare material for newcomers.

It is not an onerous job. On the contrary, there is a lot of fun in it. We meet bimonthly and communicate informally between meetings. Wouldn’t you like to work with such a great team of volunteers?

If you are interested, please speak to Don or Jan Hawkins or John Smith, Chair of the Nominating Committee
