Sunday Service: Praise and Resistance

It’s a good day for a protest!  Part of resisting injustice includes taking the time to celebrate life with creative expression.  We need time for joy as well as anger. Join me this Sunday for an all ages Justice Jam.  We begin together with stories, song and readings, and then break into activity groups before returning for a final song and benediction.  If you feel like singing songs of resistance, Mark Eberhardt will play guitar.  If you are feeling artistic, join Melissa Weale in painting protest signs and posters.

The Director of Lifespan Learning, Pamela, and I are spending part of this week with the Mississauga’s of the New Credit at their annual Historical Gathering to learn more about their experiences.  Please ask us about it on Sunday.

May the Family Day weekend be a time of rest and relationship.  I look forward to seeing you Sunday morning.

Blessings,

Fiona
